Recount is a text which retells events or knowledge in the past. Its purpose is either to announce or to entertain the assembly. There is no complication amidst the participants and that differentiates from narrative

Generic Structure of Recount

1. Orientation: inserting the participants, location and time

2. Events: Describing sequence of event that occurred in the past

3. Reorientation: It is optional. asserting individual commentary of the writer to the article

Language Feature of explain

• inserting individual participant; I, my group, etc

• utilising chronological connection; then, first, etc

• utilising connecting verb; was, were, glimpsed, heard, etc

• utilising action verb; look, go, change, etc

• Using easy past tense

explain text is majorly written in past tense mode. As it tells the story of of certain experience, it should be in writing in simple past tense, past relentless tense or past perfect tense. explain text is very alike to narrative text. But explain text does not discover any complication amidst the participants, rather it recounts the happening per happening which happened in the last time. When Sarah came to the party, the music had currently started. Tim abruptly observed Sarah and sensed shocked. He had been looking for her for 2 years. They contacted each other at a vacation bivouac in 1999, but mysteriously Sarah went away after a while. He had been thinking about her since then.

At the party, Sarah was talking to one of her associates while most of the students were consuming as much as they could. Tim determined to talk to her and remained for her ally to depart. When he went next to her, she was seeking for something in her bag, so she did not glimpse him. As soon as he affected her on the shoulder, she raised her head and couldn’t believe her eyes. She had never forgot him.

At the end of the party, no one was contented than Sarah and Tim as they discovered each other after 2 years.
